Roasted Jalapeño Cheddar Turkey Burgerzz w/ BBQ Aioli

These were fantastic. Lots of flavor and lots of ingredients that all go together just perfectly. The BBQ Aioli was the perfect compliment to it all. Will most def make these again for sure! They were husband approved too which is always a plus.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 jalapeño peppers
  • 1 lb lean ground turkey (this makes four servings)
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced (or already minced garlic)
  • 2 green onions sliced
  • 2 ounces cheddar cheese, freshly grated
  • 1 large egg, lightly beaten
  • 1/4 cup panko bread crumbs
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 slices of cheddar cheese
  • 1 ripe tomato, sliced
  • lettuce leaves
  • hamburger buns

BBQ Aioli

  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 3 tbsp BBQ sauce
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced (or already minced garlic)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/8 tsp cumin

Step One: Preheat your broiler. Place your peppers on a baking sheet and set them directly under the broiler, turning every so often until their skin is totally black and charred. Once they are, take them out and put them in a ziploc bag for about 20 minutes or so. After 20 minutes, take the peppers out and gently rub the skins off of them. Slice the tops and the bottoms off and then cut them down the middle and remove the seeds and chop them up. IMPORTANT: DON’T FORGET TO WASH YOUR HANDS WHEN DONE! (Eek, I remembered don’t worry. Phew!)

Step Two:

While your peppers are roasting in the oven go ahead and get your BBQ Aioli made. If you have a food processor great, use it. If you don’t, well you could probably just whip this up too by hand easily. Or in a blender? Mix your mayo, bbq sauce, garlic, paprika and cumin up. This will be your end result. It’s really good,

Step Three:

Next you wanna add the turkey, peppers, garlic, green onions, cheddar, egg, panko, salt, pepper AND paprika into a large bowl. It’s a lot! Mix it all together real good.

Step Four:

Heat a large skillet or pan over medium-high heat and add 2 tbsp of olive oil. Form your patties and get them cooked, about 5 min. or so on each side.

Step Five:

Layer your turkey burgers up. Put some of your aioli on each bun (toasted ours), throw your turkey patty on with some sliced tomato and cheddar cheese and a little bit of lettuce. Oh…we added bacon too. Obvs. And there you have it. Roasted Jalapeño Cheddar Turkey Burgers. With really good BBQ Aioli.
